Stages of a Drawing

I start off with a series of preliminaries, working out elements such as the composition and the look of the characters. Next, the entire drawing is laid out in graphite. Then the lines are refined and given weight in the inking stage. Finally color is added in Photoshop.

Muscles of the Head

A series of overlays showing the muscles of the face. The skull is drawn in graphite on Bristol board. The overlays are done in Prismacolor on vellum.
